Wayward Strand is a touching emotional narrative game interspersed with a myriad of threads that unfold simultaneously in an airborne medical facility in the 1970s Australia.
The game Wayward Strand you play as Casey Beaumaris, a teenage girl who is visiting the hospital for the first time. In the span of three days, Casey will investigate the past of the ship, its life of the people who live there, and how they relate to one another.
The ship’s’ rooms and talk to people who are fascinating and eccentric. You can shadow staff members and explore the space, or it is possible to explore the ship for a deeper understanding of its past.
The hospital’s residents are an eclectic cast of characters that are all charming, some strange, some a bit rude all with their own needs dreams, ambitions and goals. Residents do whatever they’d like to do, regardless of the character of their player.
Over the course of three days Casey stays on board, the characters around her have their own lives to tell – stories which she can explore. Each character behaves and acts according to their own schedule. They discuss stories, news, opinions as well as arguing, laughing, or just having a conversation with Casey.
Casey will explore the many tales of the airship and find out how her actions can have an impact on the stories.
